| He was baptized October 28, 1589 in Great Baddow, Essex, England. Robert immigrated from Ipswitch to Salem, New England aboard the ship Francis in 1634. He was accompanied by his brother John and eldest son, Robert. His wife and other members of the family including his son John and his mother Margaret probably came in a later ship the same year. Robert Pease is supposed to have been the son of Robert and Margaret Pease of Great Baddow, Essex county, England. He received a grant of land at Salem, Mass., in 1637 and resided there until his death. His mother joined the First Salem Church in 1639. Robert joined it in 1643 and three of his children were baptized at that time. There is no record as to when his wife died; she was alive at the time of his death according to his will. His mother died in 1644. |
