Katharine Hiam, in Burgess Genealogy, p. 78, says Mercy "m. probably Samuel Winslow, son of Kenelm Winslow, Jr. and Mercy Worden. If so, she lived in Rochester and had 6 children (Cape Cod Library, II:988). Rev. Burgess stated she m. ____ Winslow." David-Parsons Holton, in Winslow Memorial states Samuel "m. Bethiah Holbrook; m. 2d, Mercy King; m. 3d, Ruth Briggs." Since Mrs. Hiam gives no further details about Samuel, we leave him with three wives, but substitute Mercy Burgess for Mercy King.
