Misc. Notes |
On p.227 VHL shows an account of the Worthingtons of Blainscough. It mentions a recorded pedigree at the Visitation of 1567, p.77 that starts with Henry de Worthington c.1447. The descent continues through Peter to Richard and Henrys' G-Grandson, Peter who "was in 1520 contracted to marry Isabel dau. of James Anderton of Euxton". It looks like Peter was 12yo at the death of his father in 1526 which, if my arithmatic is correct, means their marriage was arranged when he was 6 years old! I checked the LDS IGI and got 14 references to this marriage within 20 years of 1546. Of these only a handful had any source marked on them and the sources marked were Temple documentation - you will have to follow that up with the LDS. The Ancestral file shown in the Gedcoms (AFN: XJWM-6H) shows Isabel born 1518 in Euxton (which would make her 2 yo when contractyed to be married!) but with no source details and no internet address for any of the three submitters.41 |
