Re: Sherwood family history Posted by: Sue Sherwood Arnett </cgi-genforum/email.cgi?130358182> Date: April 04, 1999 In Reply to: Sherwood family history </sherwood/messages/5.html> by Marcus A. Sherwood-Jenkins I have a 5 volume record of the descendants of Thomas Sherwood (1586-1655) who came from Ipswich in 1634 to Fairfield Connecticut. The record contains some 8 generations and 15,000 people. What would you want to know? I would be interested in knowing more of Thomas' ancestors. His parents were Esdras and Dorcas Sherwood who lived in St. Nicholas Ipswich parish from 1580-1606. Esdras' father was John Sherwood of Ipswich on the tax list of 1568. John's father was William Sherwood who settled in the parish of St. Nicholas Ipswich West Ward. William was on the Tax list of 1524. William's father was John Sherwood of Syleham, Co. Suffolk. He had a will probated there in 1504. Do you have any more information on any of these people or their families or Sherwoods in these areas? I would love to hear what Sherwoods you researched. Or do you know anyone who has done Sherwood research in these areas and times? Thank you for your message and I look forward to hearing from you. Sue | ||||||||||||||||||||||
