Sworn for Grand Enquest 3 June 1674 and made surveyor of highways for Sandwich 5 June 1678.

In the Rochester Proprietor's Records from a copy made by Noah Hammond in 1882, Samuel Briggs' name appears in the list of residents of Sandwich who were at the first meeting of the purchasers of Sippican.

(This deed established John Briggs of Rochester, whose birth is recorded in the Sandwich Vital Records, as the son of Samuel Briggs, Sr., of Rochester). No will was recorded for either Samuel Briggs or his wife and the dates of their deaths is unknown.
